I used to visit them in their fields when I was a child and spend far too much time "baaaing" and "bleating" at them.
Sometimes they came quite close to stare at me. I particularly liked watching them chew. I still do. Sheep and cows are thoughtful chewers.

These sweet faces are in the National Museum of Wildlife Art, Jackson, Wyoming.
This sheep in a cable sweater is on a wall in Rochester, NY. They call it "wall therapy." Her sweater looks like one of the famous Aran sweaters from Ireland.
Where possible I will always give the name of the artist or at least the location. If I have not named the artist or have incorrectly located the artwork please let me know and I will correct it. I only post my own photographs of things I have seen myself.

Just look at the brushwork and the angle of the light. I particularly like the one sheep peeking over the bottom of the picture.
And this artist has captured a sheep's determined plodding down the mountainside.
